Fire Alarm Testing
Fire Alarm Testing is the testing of premises and certifying that all Break Glass Units, Smoke Detectors, Heat Detectors, AOV etc. are in working order and will alarm in the event of a fire.
Fire Alarm Testing is a requirement by law to be carried out 4 times per year in each premises. This requirement is laid down in the Code of Practice IS-3218.
IPAT Ltd. will ensure peace of mind for our clients and will set up a schedule for all manual and automatic points to be tested. To obtain a Certificate for any new Commercial Building it is a necessity to have a Fire Alarm System fitted to the relevant standards (IS 3218). This very comprehensive standard covers Life Protection to varying levels (L1, L2, L3, L4). “L” or life protection type systems are classified from L1 for the highest risk requiring every part of the premises to be protected by automatic means through L2 where the only areas of recognised and specific hazards are protected, to L3 protecting all escape routes and any adjoining rooms and finally, L4 in which the escape routes only need to be protected.
At IPAT we supply commission and install all types of detection systems, we can supply install or maintain intelligent network systems spanning many control panels for very large premises giving full operation and information at many points of access. training in operation and use of such systems can also be provided.
Intelligent addressable systems are growing ever popular due to the price and cost savings involved in the installation and the intelligence that leads to the flexibility of one installation. these systems can provide many information links on the building life safety systems and can provide many solutions for harsh environments or areas that change frequently.Simply put these intelligent systems allow for a much larger fire detection installation that provides a more stable system and can provide more information on the location of fire activation’s for a faster response.
IPAT Ltd. can certify for Addressable Systems Advanced, C-Tec, Morley and all conventional systems.
We also install Advanced or C-Tec Voice Activation Systems and Nurses Call Systems.
We carry out Fire Alarm testing in Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Kerry.
